My personal aesthetic:
I describe my personal style as curiosity shoppe-meets-warm and cozy. I believe in creating spaces that are both interesting and elegant, that tell a story about the people who live in them and that invite memories to be made. I strive to create environments that uniquely suit a client’s style and budget. Often, I help my clients define what their style truly is and how to create the home that works best for them at this stage in their lives. Whether it’s choosing a wall color, or accessorizing a living room, providing a warm and inviting place to begin and end each day is of primary importance to me.
“Melisa is a creative genius when it comes to both garden and interior design. If I could have her on permanent retainer I would! – Jenny Perez, Hillsborough, CA
“We love Melisa and love how she has helped us to make our house truly our home. She not only helped us realize a vision, she moved it forward and supportively nudged us towards getting it all done in a sensible fashion. She listened to us and tailored her recommendations to both what we wanted and what would really suit us based on her observations and getting to know us.” Ian McCullough, San Mateo, CA
“In terms of working with Melisa, the two things I liked the most were that she got to know us as and how we functioned before really looking at the yard and house, and she always gave us options. We didn’t always know what we wanted, but because Melisa knew us and our goals, she was able to present us things to react to. Granted, by the end of the process, we just started asking her what her recommendation was, because that was the one we always liked. I never felt that it was Melisa’s imposed design — it was always our design (the three of us).” Lara McCullough, San Mateo, CA
